Shop 10 coordinator required

As you may have heard, Sue Hannah, after years of support to the Shop 10 scheme, will need to step down from the role of coordinating the vouchers/draw of Shop 10 with immediate effect.  My thanks to her for all of that work.

To help keep the scheme alive for the July draw, we need your help.  We are looking for one or two people to help collect the vouchers (or chase those needing to send them in!) that can continue to support the upkeep of the scheme.

Can you help?  Please get in touch ASAP otherwise the scheme will need to be suspended at the end of the month.

Adverts in Cumbria Life

Hopefully everyone has seen the advert in June's Cumbria Life we did?  Looked great and we're now in planning for the next edition which will go out during August in time for Taste.  Costs are only £30 for a slot and space is limited, first come first served.

We also have an email campaign going out via Cumbria Tourism in the next couple of weeks with a full newsletter out to 27,000 Cumbria Tourism subscribers who like to hear news and offers 'beyond the Lakes'.

Also, despite a significant community presence and questioning at the annual Parish Council meeting, the Council are not prepared to review this decision for at least another 6 months.

Lakesman Sponsorship

CN Events are looking for just a handful more sponsors for the aid stations at the Lakesman long distance triathlon on Sunday 19 June (2.4m swim, 112m bike ride, then a full marathon...) The race starts and finishes in Keswick, the bike route takes in the whole of Allerdale and the marathon course circles around Keswick town. There will be an 'athletes' village' on the lakeshore, close to the theatre, all day, where in addition to the usual tourists, there will be lots of people milling around waiting for the athletes to finish.
